What We're About
Lifepointe has a very clear vision:  To love God and love people.  This is how Jesus of Nazareth summed up the Bible...and we believe that God has called us to work hard and be creative in pursuing this vision.  We are really big on the gospel of Jesus, his life and compassion are magnetic while his claims are somewhat unnerving.  We are also really big on trying to see people like he does and then doing something about it.  From closing down church on a Sunday so we can all go work on a widow's home, to fixing cars for single moms.  We want to show people Jesus' love as we also tell them about his giant claims.  Check it out and then consider coming on the team to travel this spiritual journey with us.

These are the values that drive us:

By the Book    We consider God's Word, the Bible to be the final say on truth and the life of faith.
Raw with God    We believe in an honest, vulnerable relationship with God where we drop "the act" and come to Him in humble openness.
Real with People     It's our goal to be open and honest with each other, as we share both the victories and struggles of life together and try to lift each other up.  No "holier than thou" pretense is allowed!
A hand up    We seek to lift up those in need while also challenging them to personal responsibility.  The Least, Last and Lost are always welcomed.
Comfort and Confront    This best describes our approach to those who have yet to invite Jesus into their lives.  We want to comfort in all areas and confront only with the gospel. All to invite them to consider the cross.
One at a time    Jesus calls us to tell others about our faith and we believe that starts one-on-one with our friends.  We each pray and look for
God working in the life of our friend.
In the Game    Faith is displayed in actions and we seek to show our faith by the things that we do.  This means that everyone is on the team and everyone has a role to play.  We look for ways to be active in faith.

There are THREE elements to the Lifepointe Vision:

MOVE UP
We want to move towards God during our weekend services.  Worship, teaching, and getting refreshed by being together.

MOVE IN
Our faith really grows as we walk
with others.  This is where we invest in friendships

MOVE OUT

This is where we go outside our walls to serve others and tell them about the hope, peace, and love that comes from knowing Jesus on a personal level.
A Message from Team Pastor Chris Field
Do you ever feel all crammed up? You know, like you are one of those sardines in the can...not that I would ever open one of those things because both the taste and the smell have the potential to make you keel over. But you know what I'm talking about, right? People need space in so many ways and so often it seems like we don't have the space we need. When we have pressures and responsibilities from work, family, school and even church as well as the rest of life, we can feel like me are jammed into a can (and it starts to smell poorly in there after too long). But if there's one thing I've learned as a pastor over the years, it is that people need "space" in order to grow. We have to have relationships that encourage and challenge us, opportunities to serve, a place and time to worship together, and a place and time to be alone focusing on our relationship with God, if we are going to be healthy followers of Jesus.

I've spent time this year working on a corkscrew willow tree in my backyard. For any who have ever visited my house you'll probably know that that tree is the pride and joy of my backyard. Not many trees in the neighborhood have grown the way that tree has, but its not by accident that it has done well. The tree was given a special place in the yard. It had rich soil brought in for or it to be planted in. It has been pruned well and trained to grow up and not out. As a result, the tree has flourished.

As we go on through this summer I want this to remind us of two things. First, we must make space in our lives in order for God to work. We must keep ourselves from so filling our schedules that we don't have time to build a new friendship, to take advantage of an opportunity to show God's love and mercy or to just sit and quietly pray. Second, we must create spaces for new people to put down their roots. Through small groups, inviting a new family to dinner, allowing people to show how God has gifted them and putting their passions and talents into action, we are building a foundation where others can come and put down their roots to grow and flourish. And when we do that, we are all blessed and encouraged, but even more importantly, God is honored by our actions.

- Chris Field

May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love really is. - Eph. 3:17-18
